Introduction
Friedman Industries (Nasdaq: FRD), founded in 1965 and publicly traded since 1972, is a leading U.S. manufacturer and processor of metal products. The company operates eight facilities nationwide, spanning flat-rolled coil processing, metal distribution, and pipe and tube production.
Friedman’s seven flat-rolled coil facilities produce hot-rolled sheet and plate. The Century Metals facility in Miami, FL expands this capability with slitting and cut-to-length services for cold-rolled, coated, stainless, and non-ferrous products such as aluminum and brass. Facilities in Hickman, AR; Granite City, IL; and East Chicago, IN are equipped with temper mills and cut-to-length lines, while the company’s Decatur, AL and Sinton, TX operations feature advanced stretcher-leveler cut-to-length technology. The tubular division, based in Lone Star, TX, operates two API-licensed electric resistance welded (ERW) pipe mills.
