Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Taylor began his career with Cargill, Inc. in the Metals trading business. Throughout Mr Taylor’s 33 years with Cargill he held a variety of positions within their metals trading and steel service center business with posts in Minneapolis, New York City, Chicago, Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Houston Texas. Mr. Taylor became president of Cargill Metals Supply Chain in 2002 and retired from Cargill in that position in 2014. Mr Taylor became a director on Friedman Industries board in 2016 and was later named Chairman of the Board in 2017. In addition to Chairman, Mr. Taylor became president and CEO of Friedman Industries in March of 2019. Mr. Taylor has served on the board of Metals Service Center Institute on two occasions from 2007 – 2010 and 2013-2014. Mr. Taylor also served as MSCI Inaugural Health and Safety Chairperson from 2013-2014, along with serving as Flat Roll Product Division Chair for MSCI from 2007 – 2010 and member of Committee of the Flat Roll Council from 2004-2014. Mr. Taylor graduated with a degree in business from Linfield University in 1981.

Max Reichenthal was appointed a director of Friedman Industries in 2008. 

Mr. Reichenthal is the President and CEO of Texas Iron and Metal Company, based in Houston, Texas. Texas Iron and Metal is a family-owned business, and Max is the 3rd generation to direct the company and has done so for over four decades. He has transformed the scrap business his grandfather started over 85 years ago into a steel service center that’s specialty is surplus steel and pipe. After earning his B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1980, Max started his career at Price Waterhouse and spent 3 years as an accountant. Max serves on the Board of Directors of Friedman Industries, Jewish Federation of Houston and Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care. Max is a past president of United Orthodox Synagogues of Houston, past AIPAC Executive Council Chair, past FIDF Co- Chairman of the Board South Texas Chapter.

Sandra K. Scott

Sandra K. Scott was appointed a director of Friedman Industries in 2016. 

Ms. Scott is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Sprint Industrial Holdings, a position she held from March 2009 through August 2019. Prior to joining Sprint, Ms. Scott was President and COO of HydroChem Industrial Services for eleven years. In addition to Friedman Industries, Ms. Scott serves on the Board of Directors for CEDA, Terra Nova Solutions, AllClear Underground Solutions, DWD International and Goodwill Industries of Houston. Ms. Scott received a Bachelor of Business degree from Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas and a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Houston.

Tim Stevenson

Tim Stevenson was appointed a director of Friedman Industries in September of 2019. 

Tim Stevenson is the Founding Partner of Metal Edge Partners, LLC, a commodity advisory firm that helps companies manage the commodity price risk embedded in their businesses, as well as providing strategic and tactical advice on a range of subjects. Prior to starting Metal Edge Partners, Mr. Stevenson was a Director of Metals Risk Management at Cargill Risk Management from mid-2016 until March of 2017. In this role, he marketed risk management tools and traded a number of derivative contracts related to the ferrous metals industry. From 2012 to 2016, he was the North American Lead, Derivatives and Analysis for the Cargill Metals Supply Chain business. In this role, Mr. Stevenson led the Cargill Steel analytics effort, traded the derivatives book, and was also involved in M&A efforts. Between 1989 and 2012, he worked at American Express Financial Advisors, RedSky Partners, and Black River Asset Management as an equity analyst and portfolio manager. Mr. Stevenson graduated from the University of St. Thomas, with a degree in Economics along with a minor in Finance. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1994.

Sharon L. Taylor

Sharon L. Taylor was appointed a director of Friedman Industries in June 2022. 

Ms. Taylor is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Martin Midstream Partners (“MMLP”) and holds the same roles at Martin Resource Management Corporation, a position she has held since January 2021. Prior to that Ms. Taylor served as Director of Finance and Head of Investor Relations for MMLP. Ms. Taylor was a member of the management group at Prism Gas Systems, Inc. (“Prism”) serving as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, where she continued serving as Controller after MMLP’s acquisition of Prism in November 2005. Prior to Prism, Ms. Taylor served as Director of Finance and Investor Relations for Dynamex Inc., a North American logistics company. She also held finance and accounting positions with Union Pacific Resources and Union Pacific Fuels. Ms. Taylor holds a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from Harding University.

Joe L. Williams

Joe L. Williams was appointed a director of Friedman Industries in 2000. 

Mr. Williams has been a partner since 2007 in Pozmantier, Williams & Stone Insurance Consultants, LLC. Prior to this he was President and CEO of Wisenberg Insurance + Risk Management, a large Houston insurance broker which was sold to a subsidiary of Wells Fargo Bank in 2003. He was with that firm for 38 years. Mr. Williams received a Bachelor of Science degree in Government with a minor in Business Administration from Lamar University in 1968 and an MBA from the University of Houston in 1975.

Michael Hanson was appointed a director of Friedman Industries in March of 2025. 

Prior to his retirement in 2022, Mr. Hanson served as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for North Star BlueScope Steel. North Star BlueScope Steel is a leading producer of flat rolled steel, located in Delta, Ohio that supplies flat rolled steel to the automotive, construction, agriculture and other industry sectors. Prior to joining North Star BlueScope, Mr. Hanson held various sales positions with North Star Steel. Mr. Hanson currently serves as the chair of the board of directors of Adopt America Network, a non- profit based in Toledo, Ohio. Mr. Hanson is also on the Adopt America Network Foundation board. Mr. Hanson holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of North Dakota and a master’s degree in business administration from Eastern Michigan University.
